Simple Syrup

Simple syrup is, as its name implies, quite simple. This is however an essential part of any cake you’re making more than a few hours before serving, it helps keep the layers from drying out.

Total Time: 10 minutes

An essential element to any cake, to keep the layers from drying out.


  • 50 grams of Water
  • 50 grams of Granulated Sugar


  1. Place the granulated sugar and water into a saucepan.
  2. Place the saucepan onto your stove and heat it, on low heat, until the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Let it cool completely.
  4. Pour into an airtight container and store in your refrigerator until further use.


TIP: To change things up replace some or all of the water with tea, coffee or fruit juice.
