Looking for an alternative to a Gingerbread house? How about a Ferrero Duplo Chocolate Log Cabin? An easy treat to make and nice to look at, decorate as much or as little as you’d like.

Edible Log Cabin made of Ferrero Duplo and milk chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 6 packs of Ferrero Duplo (each with 5 inside)
  • 100 grams of Milk Chocolate
  • Optional: Edible Decorations

Instructions

  1. Cut ten Ferrero Duplo to a length of 7 cm for the front and back of the house, making sure both ends are flat.
  2. Cut out pieces to create a door, out of three of one set of five cut Ferrero Duplo.
  3. Cut ten Ferrero Duplo to a length of 8 cm, for the sides of the roof.
  4. Place three Ferrero Duplo together for both sides of the house, so two sets of three.
  5. Cut the middle Ferrero Duplo to create a window.
  6. Melt the chocolate in a heat proof bowl on top of a saucepan with a small layer of water in it, on medium heat.
  7. Place in a (disposable) piping bag or use a spoon.
  8. Place a sheet of acetate onto a cutting board.
  9. Glue the Ferrero Duplo together with the melted chocolate, as shown in the video, for all of the sides and the roof.
  10. Refrigerate until set, about one hour.
  11. Use melted chocolate to reinforce the roof.
  12. Glue the sides of the house together using melted chocolate, supporting the sides with a small can or cup as they set.
  13. Refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes.
  14. Add on the roof, attaching it with melted chocolate.
  15. Refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes.
  16. Optional: Decorate with edible decorations.
