Sweet and chewy red velvet cookies, with white chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • 120 grams of Butter
  • 120 grams of Granulated Sugar
  • 120 grams of (Light) Brown Sugar
  • 1 Egg*
  • 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
  • Red Food Colouring
  • 180 grams of Flour
  • 20 grams of Cocoa Powder
  • 3 grams of Baking Soda
  • 130 grams of White Chocolate Chips or Chunks
  • 20 grams of White Chocolate Chips or Chunks

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder and baking soda.
  3. Beat together the butter and both kinds of sugar.
  4. Add the egg, vanilla extract and red food colouring.
  5. Mix together until well incorporated.
  6. Add the flour mixture and mix again.
  7. Add the larger amount of chocolate chips, or chunks, and mix.
  8. Form 13 cookie balls from the dough and place five at a time onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  9. Flatten each cookie ball a little, adding some chocolate chips, or chunks, on top of each.
  10. Bake for 10 - 15 minutes.
  11. Let them cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack and let them cool completely.

When are they done?

You'll know the cookies are done when the edges start to brown slightly.

*Make sure this ingredient is at room temperature.
