Get in the holiday spirit with these thick and chewy chocolate cookies, filled with milk chocolate chips and red and green chocolate candies.

Chocolate chip cookies made with dark chocolate, milk chocolate chips and chocolate candies.

Ingredients

  • 20 grams of Butter
  • 100 grams of Dark Chocolate
  • 230 grams of Butter*
  • 200 grams of Granulated Sugar
  • 200 grams of Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 Eggs*
  • 2 teaspoons of Vanilla Extract
  • 80 grams of Cocoa Powder
  • 250 grams of Flour
  • 6 grams of Baking Soda
  • 80 grams of Milk Chocolate Chips or Chunks
  • 130 grams of Red and Green Chocolate Candies**
  • 50 grams of Red and Green Chocolate Candies**

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
  2. Melt dark chocolate together with the smaller amount of butter, set aside to let cool slightly.
  3. Whisk together flour, baking soda and cocoa powder.
  4. Beat together the bigger amount of unsalted butter with both kinds of sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add the vanilla extract and eggs one by one and mix well.
  6. Add the slightly cooled chocolate and mix again.
  7. Add flour mixture and mix well.
  8. Fold in milk chocolate chips and the bigger amount of red and green chocolate candies.
  9. Form 26 cookie balls from the dough and place five at a time onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper.
  10. Flatten slightly and decorate the tops with more red and green chocolate candies.
  11. Bake for 10 - 15 minutes, until they are puffed and just set on the edges.
  12. Let them cool for about 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely.

When are they done?

You'll know the cookies are done when the edges start to set.

Notes

*Make sure this ingredients is at room temperature.
**I used the red and green mini chocolate smarties, from three bags of mini chocolate smarties. Feel free to use M&Ms or other similar chocolate candies.
